Frequently Asked Questions

We often get asked similar questions, so here are some of our replies

Q: Do I need to register to attend the Convention?

A: No, There is no registration required to join our 'Day of Gratitude' events. Simply use the Zoom code ID's and Passwords advertised to join.

Q: Is there a fee for attending?

A: No, there is no fee for joining our conventions, We ask that if you are a member of Al-Anon you consider making a donation as part of Tradition 7, but this is completely at your discretion and you may wish do this in whichever way you like.

We've provided links to some online payments options, but if you'd rather contribute directly to your homegroup, district or area funds that is perfectly ok too.

Q: I'd Like to attend the convention, but I cannot stay all day. Am I still ok to participate?

A: Of course! Our events are usually of a 'come and go style', meaning you can join and stay for as long or as little as you like. You are free to leave the meeting and re join again later if you wish to.

Q: I'm having trouble with the PayPal link, can I donate to directly to GSO or WSO?

A: Yes that's not a problem at all, After our operating cost are met, contributions we receive to the PayPal account will be sent off the GSO

Q: As an online Convention what are your operating cost? Isn't Zoom free?

A: To provide a convention that accommodates the numbers of attendees we've experienced, (we had over 400 guests on our 2nd D.o.G Event) we needed to upgrade our Zoom account. This account upgrade, along with Zoom's 'add on' Large Meeting expansions, are our main overheads.

For the 3rd Day of Convention, other overhead costs included the translators fee to allow us to provide English/Greek translations of the speaker's shares throughout the day.

As a committee we are careful not to spend money unnecessarily so that we can maximise our donations to GSO
